The greatest achievement was at first and for a time a dream. The oak sleeps in the acorn; the bird waits in the egg; and in the highest vision of the soul, a waking angel stirs. Dreams are the seedlings of realities.
This is just to let you know that the FolesHillfields office at 6 Paul Stacey House will now be closed until sometime in September.
Positive Images, Coventry's annual celebration of cultural diversity, was a success for FolesHillfields again in our third year of offering a programme of events as part of the June/July city- wide festival. Thanks, as ever, are due to our precious volunteers who helped each event run smoothly.
Some highlights for us included:
We’ve also had a very successful Global Citizenship programme in John Gulson school this year. We ran more volunteer training as we went along than we have in previous years, and volunteers report that this was a good thing! For the first time, we took on the Year Six’s end-of-term assembly (their leaving assembly) and worked extremely hard to put on a good combination of stories from their time at school with Global Citizenship content, in the form of a time machine travelling in time and space and telling some of the migration stories that led to the communities which form John Gulson all living as neighbours.
But now we’re very tired!
So we’re closing up the office for a while – for staff holidays, and some evaluation and planning for the next twelve months and beyond.
See you in a couple of months!
