Women's Day: as it happened

in

We've cleared up and locked up after a fine day of celebrations for International Women's Day. We've talked with our sisters in other countries, cooked and eaten together, sung and chatted and had all kinds of fun.

Tsunami Warning in Nagoya

Heather and Mark are staying with Aya and Mino in Japan.

The street sirens just went off, followed by a calm Tsunami warning - the TV is broadcasting more details on all channels. I rushed to get passport and mobile, but the warning is for a possible two metres wave in three hours time, so we have plenty of time to get to higher ground.

Volunteer Training Day

We have just completed another great volunteer training and activities day.

Below, our volunteers write about what we got up to and how they enjoyed it:

Happy New Year!

After another busy and interesting year, FolesHillfields closed our office over the Christmas period, though we're now open again.

Below are some highlights from the past year, and some dates for 2010 ...

Happy Holidays!

A number of local Muslims have returned quite recently from Hajj after Eid ul-Adha in November; it's the last day of the Jewish festival of Hannukah; Christmas is round the corner; and it's now the Islamic New Year, since the month of Muharram began on Friday.

Chag Sameach, Ras as-Sana Mubarak, and Happy Christmas!

Welcome Back!

Welcome!

Planning, planning, planning

Our annual planning process went well this September, leaving us with clear action plans for another good year and beyond.

Summer highlights, and a summer break

Positive Images, Coventry's annual celebration of cultural diversity, was a success for FolesHillfields again in our third year of offering a programme of events as part of the June/July city- wide festival. Thanks, as ever, are due to our precious volunteers who helped each event run smoothly.
