Nothing that I can do will change the structure of the universe. But maybe, by raising my voice I can help the greatest of all causes - goodwill among men and peace on earth.
I hope you all enjoyed New Year celebrations and are hopeful for a positive start to the new year! On that note we are now running a Healthy Walking Club from the project each Wednesday morning 9:30am - 10:30am. It's a great chance to make a good start to the new year by getting fit and healthy, and shaking off those winter cobwebs! It is also a great chance to meet new people and socialise.
I really hope to see you there, if you need any more information just ring us or pop into the project. After we finish we will come back to the project for a hot drink or squash whichever you prefer. Everybody is welcome, come along to 6 Paul Stacey House and get involved!
On Monday 23rd August, FolesHillfields had our first very own Men's Day to promote the rich and diverse masculinities present in the neighbourhood.
Over twenty men enjoyed ourselves - read on for details ...
Walking for health takes off your mind the usual daily stress just by observing and commenting on what you see on your way.
It feels like an adventure. The best is on your return when you feel you did shade off some unnecessary calories.
More than seventy residents from different cultures in Hillfields and Foleshill came together to celebrate community spirit at The Big Lunch on Sunday, outside our offices at 6 Paul Stacey House.
FolesHillfields Healthy Summer has influenced my daily diet in a positive way.
Since the project started, I tried to change my daily diet in a more healthy way. For example, I eat more diverse fruits since I participated in the fruit taster day. I have always been a passionate fan of fruits, and discovering new fruits and tasting them together with the volunteers and staff was a great experience.

We have been flooded! There's a lot to do to clean up, replace our carpet, etc - but FolesHillfields Healthy Summer will be continuing as planned - the Festival must go on! Any small changes in the programme will be reflected in our online events calendar
We will now have the unplanned cost of replacing all of our flooring (around £1000), and we are appealing for donations of any size to contribute to that - please get in touch or just donate online if you would like to help out.
We've just published our July Events Programme - you can download it as a pdf here, and it's also available as an online calendar
As always our May womens lunch was a fun, busy and lively affair!
Around 30 local women and a handful of children got together to share food, hang out with each other and make new friends. We took the opportunity to let the women know about our big FolesHillfields Health Summer, and how they can be a part of it.
There was much enthusiasm and excitement. We came up with lots of fun ideas for things to do:
Last Wednesday, the afternoon Open Office was used for planning events for 'FolesHillfields Healthy Summer'.
The meeting was attended by the team, volunteers and officers of the council. After the initial "whats your name and where do you come from", we did a number of activities to get people talking on what could possibly be done, then comparing them to ideas that were already in the pot.
FolesHillfields Vision Project is going to hold a season of health related events over the next three months, called FolesHillfields Healthy Summer.
We will put on a range of activitites - with something for everyone. What the activitites are are not yet finalised but we will have a programme ready for mid-June. We will include;-
