Such is the power of love in gentle mind, - That it can alter all the course of kind.
On Wednesday 21st December 2011 we hosted a tenants' Christmas party. We had lots of great people come to Open Office and we had wonderful food including samosas from Roti Junction and mince pies. Yum Yum!
We had a really good women's peace event today =)
You can all see our work on the new display about important women throughout history and what we love about being a women.
Take some inspiration from some of the quotes on the board too!
Autumn is really here now and we have a wide range of activities planned - including some to celebrate Coventry's annual Peace Festival.
On October 10th we had our third Men's Monday event. We started the day off with some talking and discussing what we can do on Men's Monday in the future.
We played Four Square which was fun and invigorating. Later on we played some board games and did some cooking. We will be having another Men's Monday event on the 14th November.
We hosted our second Community Iftari this year.
Below are some comments from the some of the people that came along, to make it another fantastic and memorable occasion.
We've just sent out our September and October schedule - it's attached to this post, and if you click the "Read more" link you can read the contents as text ...
Of course you can also check our upcoming events and activities on our online calendar, as always.
One thing that's not on the programme yet is our Apple Juice Making Day - watch this space!
The week of the "riots" in London and across the country, we reached out for and met with our neighbours of many communities - asking how were people being affected, and how could we bring our neighbourhood together for justice and peace.
Recently, we brought Africans and Caribbeans together at 6 Paul Stacey (as we have several times before) to learn from each other and share experiences. We brought and shared food and other expressions of our different cultures.
I can best express the continuing success of these occasional meetings through the comments of those who came:
I am very excited to be part of our new CookRight Club every Wednesday morning. The aim of the cookery club is to bring together people from different cultures and communities together, and teach each other popular traditional dishes from around the world.
We had a great 100th International Women's Day celebration event. Around 40 women and 12 children from a mix of cultures and backgrounds came together to enjoy a whole day of art activities, massage and mehndi. We also shared stories, danced and had lots food and fun! The women also had an opportunity to contribute to our tree of inspirational women ... and it was truly inspiring and touching reading them.
