There must be amidst all the confusions of the hour a tried and undisturbed remnant of people who will not become purveyors of coercion and violence who are willing to stand alone if it is necessary for the way of peace and love among men
On Wednesday 21st December 2011 we hosted a tenants' Christmas party. We had lots of great people come to Open Office and we had wonderful food including samosas from Roti Junction and mince pies. Yum Yum!
On October 10th we had our third Men's Monday event. We started the day off with some talking and discussing what we can do on Men's Monday in the future.
We played Four Square which was fun and invigorating. Later on we played some board games and did some cooking. We will be having another Men's Monday event on the 14th November.
We have been working with Warwickshire Wildlife Trust to put on a short series of circus skills training sessions, followed by a circus skills event at Yardley Street youth centre. Over the course of the training sessions we all learnt lots of new skills, like manipulating diaboloes, riding unicycles, making balloon animals, spinning plates and juggling (which Abdullah got very good at). And there was more!
We have just started a new programme with young people. We have 16 young people from Sidney Stringer Academy coming to us for twelve sessions.
The aim of this programme, in line with the aims of our project, is to bring together the diverse communities that live in the area in order to build a strong and cohesive community. Click here to read more.
