Next stop Nigeria!

The day before I went to India I received an email about a leadership program for leaders in building peaceful communitites in the UK and Africa, put on and funded by the British Council.

We had four days before the closing date and Heather and Fatima both really wanted to participate. The closing date was on Eid and Fatima was simply too busy to apply - I managed to send in what I thought was a pretty poor application from an internet cafe in Darjeeling!

I was lucky enough to get a place and will be part of a program for 180 leaders, 60 from the UK and 120 from 19 different African countries. We will be split into three groups, one going to Nigeria, one to Tanzania and one to South Africa. We all get together in the UK in February.

I'm off to Nigeria for five days on the 23rd November - really soon!!!!

Last Tuesday I went for the first program day with all of the UK participants including my cohort going to Nigeria. The group was really diverse and interesting and the day was great!
