The greatest achievement was at first and for a time a dream. The oak sleeps in the acorn; the bird waits in the egg; and in the highest vision of the soul, a waking angel stirs. Dreams are the seedlings of realities.
Like on most of our Wednesdays, this week too we had a women's coffee morning. Only this time, it had a theme – an inter-faith coffee morning. And by the end it proved to be just that. After some initial hesitation, all of the 8 participants shared and discussed full heartedly about what their faiths meant to them, what they believed in, and most importantly, what kept them going on a day-to-day basis. What was interesting about all of it was the fact that despite our different backgrounds and belief systems, things we all valued the most were the same: striving to be good people and serving humanity. Recognising this common factor made us understand and appreciate each other even more.
Later on our women also welcomed a representative from the Coventry Carers Association who provided information on what help was available to home-based carers who have been providing support to their near and dear ones.
Through all of the serious talk, there was time to blow some balloons, laugh out loud and have some fun. Like always :)
Aw, it sounds really nice!!
