Such is the power of love in gentle mind, - That it can alter all the course of kind.
On Wednesday 21st December 2011 we hosted a tenants' Christmas party. We had lots of great people come to Open Office and we had wonderful food including samosas from Roti Junction and mince pies. Yum Yum!
The day started for guests at 2pm with a Christmas-themed Open Office, while cooking happened in the kitchen from 1pm with staff and volunteers. By 4pm the cooking had finished and Fatima and Angela had done a wonderful job with support from Craig and Boli. Craig had made an excellent chocolate cake while Boli made an authentic and delicious Chinese fish dish. Fatima made Banoffee Pie, spicy chicken wings, chicken curry, and rice and strawberry and pineapple desert. Angela made coconut squares, Sorrel and Ginger drink, rice and peas, and Caribbean fried fish.
The Christmas party for tenants started at 5pm. We had lots of great people come - some who we already knew, and many new ones who we loved getting to know. We had over forty people come to the party. We had a wonderful mix of people with everyone from the older generation to young babies, there were lots of discussions and everyone had fun.
Everyone really liked playing Pass the Parcel twice, with Diane winning the end prize of a Christmas hat and a snowman puppet. We also had Mark playing the guitar, with some carol singing from different countries at the end.
