Hey everyone, this is just a quick hello from me in CHINA!

Got here today at 00:00 China time. Its really strange but at the same time quite familiar. The roads and buildings look very much like those in England but that was at night. When I woke up in the morning and opened my curtains at the hotel it looked much more Chinese now that people were roaming the streets. It's just soo cool.

The flight was really long but on the way to Beijing from Dubai i got to sit next to a reeally nice chinese guy and got to practice a bit of mandarin with him. We even shared pictures of what our lives are like - I showed him England and my family and he showed me his extremely chubby baby daughter. The kids here are sooooooo cute!! He said that i could go and visit him when i had some free time.

When we reached the hotel the only place open and the only place closest was macdonalds. It really isn't very different to what you would expect in england. i was a little disappointed as i really want to eat some traditional chinese food. Luckily in the morning i got to try some of the local stuff from a stall near by it was an egg fried pancake with chicken, sauce, lettuce. It was gorgeous!!!! Bring on more of that!!!!!!

The only things that have bugged me so far are the fact that travellers checks are such a pain, and my shampoo bottle blew up in my suitcase. It's mainly sorted and cleaned just need to do some washing.

Floods ... Don't worry, they are very far from where we are staying so we're not affected at all.

Anyone on skype, give me some times when you're free and i'll see if i can talk to you guys. We're mainly free in the evenings. [Beijing is 7 hours ahead - so 11am in the UK is currently 6pm in Beijing - Ed.]
