Not for glory or for fame, but for usefulness, widespread usefulness.
We have just completed another great volunteer training and activities day.
Below, our volunteers write about what we got up to and how they enjoyed it:
Today, 11th February 2010, it was Volunteers training day at FOLESHILLFIELDS Vision Project. I enjoyed talking to different people, and I liked most the age-group activity. Everyone was friendly and I am looking forward to meet more people. We also learnt greetings in different languages and it was fun.
C'etait vraiment bon! Merci! - Anne-Marie
Bardzo lubie tu przychodzie. Poznawac nowych ludzi-ich kulture i obyczaje. Sprobowac nowej kuchni i milo spedzic czas.
I liked to come in to meet new and old friends, have a chat, try different food and improve my English - Karolina
I saw it as a great opportunity to interact with many different people in a fun environment. I also enjoyed discussing with people of a similar age to me about the positives and negatives of being in our age group. - Moody
I really enjoyed today. I couldn't come for the training in the morning because of college, but when I did come I really had a good time. I love coming here - I have lots of fun and everyone is so lovely and welcoming. I enjoyed going to the allotment the most today. I learnt quite a few new things. - Mohsina
I enjoyed the cleaning day with all other fellow volunteers - painting the walls, eating good food and chatting away. The positive energy, smiles and good sense of humour always lifts my mood, and the bright sun through the window made it all the more fun today! :) - Sujana
I really enjoyed this afternoon, as it was a chance to get to know the other volunteers - the 'free' lunch was also a bonus! Cleaning the office was surprisingly fun and helping out in the allotment in the freezing cold was ... an experience ?! ;P - Raadia
I enjoyed the training day - assisting with the cleaning and meeting new people!! Also, visiting the allotment with Mark was fun (but VERY COLD) =( - Irum
